Zinefest is like a very small comic-con for people who really like photocopiers and are neither here nor there on sequential art. The Weird Birds book sold well, and lots of people picked up Grin, giggled at the page 2 reveal, and then put it back down. A surprisingly high number of people stood in front of my table and read the whole thing cover to cover and then put it back down, which I think is kind of rude but am too meek to say anything about.

Overall it was a loud and exhausting afternoon but I’m glad I did it. It was cool to hang out with my friend Marc (poorly caricatured in panel 1), and it’s inspiring to see so many artists making so much cool, diverse art. I already have like a million ideas for books I want to do for next year’s event (which I will add to my totally manageable to-do list…)
